Speaker 1:

Hello everybody, welcome to today's episode of walk with me. I am your host. It is so good to have each and every one of you during this exciting time and they're listening to this podcast. I think each and every one of you for liking the podcast, sharing the podcast and getting it out and I know people usually say that I really do appreciate it. It's not about me, it's about what we're talking about here. It's about the word of God and it's about the truth behind what the word of God is.

Speaker 1:

Again, I think you lost so much. You guys could be listening to any podcast anywhere in the world, but you chose a few minutes, few minutes of your day to listen to this one, and that it means a lot to me and thank God that he's brought you here to this podcast. There's not anything I've done. It's not anything about JJ. Again, it's about and I think so much, I see everybody sharing it and I see people talking about it. I heard somebody talking about the podcast. It's kind of weird because you hear people talking about it and then they don't know that it's you and it's kind of it's kind of surreal if that's such a thing. But thank you so much for Listening, sharing. Thank you so much. Yes, I will. People have asked me about the port links and I've got a couple support links. I just haven't really pushed it or anything like that by me.

Speaker 1:

But the more important thing is that we are talking about the word of God and we're talking about what the word of God is and you know what it really means. So, in while I'm on this subject, we have a rule on this podcast and I'll say it now, so I got to say it later. If we go over a scripture in the in this podcast, in any episode of the podcast, all of us have an immediate homework assignment To read a versatile above or a versatile below, but preferably the whole chapter. Why? Because context is key. Anyone who's listened to this podcast more than one or two episodes Now it's time to repeat it. And it's important because it's not about what JJ says, it is not about what acid deacon dr So-and-so says, it's about what God says. So it's important to understand what God is saying by taking everything in context. Real quick. Thank you so much for true bars. There's a city, some new Audio equipment that you're new, mike, so we will be working on in the green again.

Speaker 1:

I was trying to get it on for this particular, this particular episode, but it worked out. But thank you so much. Thank you so much to him for the buck music, the intro and the outro. Just, he's an amazing person and an inspiration to people who are younger, looking for a direction. Just watching him develop in God is an amazing thing.

Speaker 1:

Thank you so much for this visit, creations for her tumblers and Her promotion of the podcast with the walk with me tumbler. It is a. She made one for us and it was a wonderful tumbler. I just like them a little bit bigger, the tumbler I. I like the little, huge ones and they come in different sizes, but she gave me this one sort of a tryout. It's just a wonderful number. Thank you all so much, thank you. So thank you, thank you. Thank you now.

Speaker 1:

Let's get into you today's episode. Now. We were talking about the crucifixion in our last episode and I know you guys are sending me questions about what's going on in Israel right now and we will get to that. I promise you we will get to that. But I just wanted to finish this subject about the crucifixion because to take a break now it just doesn't seem to be fair. So Just making sure that we are talking about the death, burial and resurrection, because all is Incompassing. It's not three separate events. We like to think of it as it's really one event, because it's all prophesied as one event. Yes, it's three portions of one event. It's three, it's three activities in one event, like if I go to the store, I open the car door and I get in and I drive to the store, but it's all one event. And so we want to make sure that we finish covering this and then next week that we will be answering a lot of your questions.

Speaker 1:

If you have any questions and it's biblical questions Go ahead and email us at walkwithmeatbiblestudiescom Walk with me, bible study. Okay, that email address wrong. It's walkwithmebiblestudiesatgmailcom. Again, it's walkwithmebiblestudiesatgmailcom. And if you want your question to be addressed on the air, because we're getting so many now, go ahead and put your name in the In the subject line and then put on air. If you put your name in the subject line on air, I will address you individually. If you just put on air, then I will leave you anonymous, because a lot of people prefer to be addressed anonymously, and I certainly understand that, because when I was seeking God, I Wanted that. It wanted everybody to know what you know, what I didn't know and what I knew. So I understand that, I understand. So just put on air In the comment section. Leave your name out of the title section. Leave your name out of the the subject lesson. Subject lesson okay, all right, so Into.

Speaker 1:

In today's episode, we're going to finish talking about the crucifixion, um and, and we're talking about the burial, but now the more important part was the resurrection. Now you say, what is? Why is that more important? Because If we served a god that could be killed, then what kind of god are we actually serving? And this was the, the key of everything. Because God has to show us that God Does not die, god cannot die, that God is from the beginning and end, the end. So so, basically, what happens now? We we've got of. We've had Jesus on the cross, the spirit of God Lifted from Jesus's body so that the body could die, and then the body was put into the tomb Joseph aramaic, uh, joseph's tomb, okay. So God's plan for the Messiah was to come forth out of the grave and to show us that death does not hold him, and Jesus went as far as to predict how long people would be in the grave and tell us exactly what's going to happen Matthew 12 39. But he answered a certain of them as evil and adulterous generations. He gets after the sign, and we're going to be talking about the sign, uh, but there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah, or, as Jonas was three days and three nights in the wail's belly, close out the son of man, three days and three nights in the heart of earth, the men of men of a surprise and judgment, this generation, and behold, a greater than Jonas is here. So, basically, jesus is saying you guys are looking for signs and again, you guys listen to the park as sending me these questions. We're going to be talking about science. This is exactly why we have to address these signs. Okay, people looking for signs, people looking for uh, warnings and uh, just to kind of uh, give you a preview of what's going to happen.

Speaker 1:

In that episode. It's like people are looking for um, kind of like sort of um. I'd like to kind of compare it to you. You're going down the street and see a green light and you're just cruising along. You're not really cared, but as soon as you see that yellow light, you want to hurry up and get through the intersection. Well, people are looking for yellow light, but if you've ever gone, have you ever done that? And you see that sometimes the yellow light doesn't last as long as you thought it was. And then you hit that red light and then there's an officer there. This is exactly what a lot of us are going to be Caught up there. A lot of us are going to be caught up there on that short red or short yellow light and and I know that's a euphemism and a you know nice term to kind of make it simple but we're going to get into it. I know that's not the center of today's park.

Speaker 1:

We are going to get into that, okay, so, basically, because Jesus said three days, I'm going to rise again, and this was sort of, uh, making this sort of made the scribes and the Pharisees and the religious authorities nervous, so they actually decided to put guard over his grave. Now that's what let you know exactly what kind of threat that they view Jesus as. The chief priests were free, so and then they actually thought that, well, maybe, maybe these guys were so such fanatics. This guy, you know, these disciples were such a cult, such a Such a fanatic, such a such enthusiasts behind this guy, jesus, that they would actually go in and steal the body. And then I claim that Jesus said so.

Speaker 1:

They went and went to pilot Matthew 27, 563 to 65. They went to pilot and they said sir, remember that deceiver said what he was alive after three days I'll rise again. So command, therefore, that the supper be made sure until the third day, less disciples come by night, deal him away and say unto the people he is rigid from the dead. So the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilots said unto them you'd have a watch, go your way and make sure, make it as sure as you can. Now let's stop right there for a moment.

Speaker 1:

These chief priests, these Religious authority, were spanked so much attention to what Jesus was saying, even more so than some of the disciples, because none of the disciples were there waiting for Jesus to be resurrected. But they literally had a guard there. They literally went and said this guy's gonna rise again after the third day. They literally went to Pilot because nothing happened without the approval of Rome, which is that's another subject for another day. Nothing happened without the approval of Rome and so they went and begged him, begged Pilate, to say, hey, let us watch over this year grade, so that. So that when that wouldn't, you know, after three days, you can come back and make fun of the disciple and say, haha, you guys really were blaspheming, because that's what that word error means in this context. They did not want to have the disciple saying these disc. Jesus rose again and that therefore blaspheming called him God.

Speaker 1:

But, as we all know, the error, the error, the real error, was that these, these efforts to keep Jesus in the tomb were, you know, didn't work out. The angel of the Lord, the center from heaven, wrote back stone and sat on it. And the keepers of the tomb, you know should, these are the guards. The guards saw this happen and they, they played that. And you know, after this happened, mary Magdalene and Mary, the wife of Cleopas two Mary's there and mother of James and Salah, along with others, were already coming to the tomb. They hadn't made it there yet because they just wanted to annoy the body with spices, and so when they got close, they wondered why the stone was rolled away. Because this stone was not, was not a little stone, this was a. This stone was like six feet tall. Remember, this is a rich guy's grave. This isn't just some little Rudy Poop kind of a hole in the ground. You know like we go to. We go to a graveyard today and we see these big mausoleums. This is the kind of grave that Jesus was in, because this is the kind of grave that was donated by the rich guy Back in 28.28,.

Speaker 1:

At the end of the Sabbath that begins the dawn of the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and other Mary to see the seven of them and behold, there was a great earthquake and the angel of the Lord, the center, from heaven, came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat on it. His countenance was like light and his raiment of white snow. And for fear of him, the keeper, the guards did shake and become his dead men and he played dead. And the angel answered the sentence of the women fear not, ye, for I know that you think Jesus, which was crucified, he is not here. He is risen and said come be the place where the Lord lay. Now let's stop right there.

Speaker 1:

The angel did not roll the stone away so that Jesus could walk out, that's, that's a common misconception. The angel rolled the stone away so that you can see, and I can see, that Jesus wasn't in there. That's how big and heavy the stone was. Come and see the place where the Lord lay and go quickly and tell us disciples that he is risen from the dead. He told the women, the people who came to deliver the spices, to go back and tell the disciples, because the disciples were still off mourning. And behold, he goes before you unto death, galilee, and there you shall see him. And look, I've told you. And they departed quickly from the cervical. Fear and great joy did run to bring the disciples where they ran back. They ran back and this wasn't like a quick, you know, walk in the park. They ran back to Galilee and Many started seeing him at In 1st Corinthians, 15th, 4th grade.

Speaker 1:

He was buried and that he rose again the third day, according to the scripture, as he was seeing a sea fish. Then, of the 12, after that he was seen of above 500 brethren at one round of people, of whom the great apart remain of this present day for some of all in the clean. In other words, some of that died by the time all have been After that. You see the James and then all of the disciples, though Jesus happen happen being seen already by the time he saw the apostles and, last of all, he had seen me also as one born out of All that, even In a different man. Let's read all of the story of Paul. So remember now Jesus is doing that just to fill the Cross that you and I know that he is God manifest in the flesh. That's why he did it. He didn't do it because the ghost or Because these things were prophesied. He did that because he showed that I am God.

Speaker 1:

Jesus have one other thing to say and you know we we are going through it as a first. I feel we'll get more into detail as soon as we finish. Complete overview. But Jesus have one big sermon left, one big One big, I don't know, I might might call it a kind of a goodbye speech and that we call that the break the mission. Now we see this break mission. These commanded the disciples to be for penance, and this is what his last sermon was Matthew 20, 19, 20. Go, ye, therefore, to teach all nations that, and the son of the Holy Ghost Teaching them to serve all things. Let's go. If I have the man that you and Lord, I am with you always, even if you depend on the world.

Speaker 1:

Mark wrote it like this. He said unto them oh, you, to all the world, he that believe it. That is that I have to say. He that believe it, that shall be man, and these signs of all In my name, that the path of the it shall be with you time Perfect, and if they bring any deadly thing, it shall not hurt you. It's a lay hands on the system. Louk wrote it this way. This, then, would be the understanding that you might understand and Thus it is written and that repentance and remission of sin should be preaching his name among all nations getting at the. You are witnesses of these things. Oh, I send the promise of my father for you, terry, in the city of Jerusalem, that you can do the power on high.

Speaker 1:

Now you might ask yourself what's what JJ? These are the three synoptic Did not leave out John. He did leave out John. You read three different versions of the same, and this is why we had a lot of different Confused, a lot of different confusions that we have now Because people say, well, I have to believe. Other people say, well, matthew, say you got, appreciate the offering. The Terry preacher and then other people will then chime in and say, hey, there's a Trinity right there in the name of the father and the son of the Holy Ghost, even though he's single spoken, is singing the term and not plural. So but the problem is that these three people seeing sitting in the same sermon caught different parts of the sermon and, and and it's one of the things that you know I've come to understand that three people could listen to be sitting in the same sermon with their kids three completely different things.

Speaker 1:

And all of these things be relevant because God is saying this thing to them. Now that does not mean that it does not give you the opportunity to make up your own doctrine. It's a big opportunity to discard parts of the doctrine that you do not like. But all these things wrap up into a divine mission. Go into all the world where you should go from the every creature. He that believes is saved, he that does not discard, and he will be in due with power on high, as long as you go back to the real good. So what is the elements of the Great Commission? We're going to get more into this next week, next session. It's a belief, a repentance. It's a water baptism, the Holy Ghost is speaking and is healing. All of these things will wrap up in the same Great Commission. It's not just one verse, y'all. I know that you teach this thing all the time and it's kind of misleading because if you start thinking about it it starts to fall apart. That way, there are a lot of elements that use the Great Commission.

Speaker 1:

So Jesus let people out of the place where he ascended, called it the Mount of Olives, near Bethlehem. He told them to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father that they would be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Great soon they used the term not many days. That just means they were very soon. And as disciples were looking up, there were two angels that showed up. They called them men, and the Bible is a little confusing in this matter. Sometimes they'll say, quote unquote, men appeared, but sometimes they'll just come out right out and say angel. So two men appeared in white robe and that came you know this saying Jesus that you saw go up. It's going to be the same Jesus that's going to come back. So why are you still standing here? And so it was going to talk about that next week.

Speaker 1:

So I get into action. This is where things really start to get thrown and the actual church is born. The church has not existed before action in the Bible. You had disciples, you had apostles, you had people that believed. You had believed church. Jesus mentioned it, but the church did not start until it was back. As a matter of fact, we can go ahead and get there real quick before we wrap up and take notes here.

Speaker 1:

Acts, chapter one, verse one, rule up. It's a pretty lengthy read, but this will tell you exactly when Jesus was talking about the New Covenant. This is where we start talking about New Testament and this is really exactly where it starts in Acts, chapter two. But this is laying the groundwork. As a matter of fact, I'll split here real quick the Covenant treaties I've made with the opposite of all Jesus began to do in Teeth until the day in which he was taken up.

Speaker 1:

After that, through the Holy Ghost, that given commandment unto the apostles whom he had chosen, given them through the Holy Ghost, because the Holy Ghost was the part, the spirit that dwelt in men, to whom he showed Himself alive at the pass, after many insolvable proofs being seen of them. Forty days feeding other things, praying to the kingdom of God and, being assembled together with them, commanded them as they shall not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which they had. He you have heard of them With John 2. He baptized with water. Each of you baptized in Holy Ghost not many days since, when they therefore were coming together, they asked Him Lord, look how, at this time, the door to King was opened. There's no longer a door to King. Just stop right there.

Speaker 1:

At this point, the apostles still had not. It's kind of it's amazing. It's amazing to understand that, as of this point right now, the apostles were still looking for a different kind of deliverance. At this time, the apostles were still waiting for Jesus to find a white horse and come in and ride on and kill all the Romans and free Israel, but Jesus was here on a different type of salvation. Jesus said I ain't wrong about this here, right? This whole Roman occupation, bro, that's not even the whole purpose of it. We'll talk about a bigger purpose. And it's not for you to know when that happened and I really spoke with these things while they were taking up the cross and the cloud of the sea why they looked this fast towards heaven. That you have to be told.

Speaker 1:

Two men were livid in their white apparel, which also said you, men of Galilee, watch there, you gaze in the heaven. This same Jesus which was taken up from you into heaven shall so come in light manner. If you have seen him go into heaven, I mean, could you imagine that? Could you imagine looking out where he go? And I don't know? And just this allow the book of JJ to run this. Good people, let's just say you stand up there and you watch it Jesus going to heaven.

Speaker 1:

That part is true. You look, you turn around and you look. You see like your lies are exposed. What's going on with that? Looking at Like what, what, what are you looking at? He's going to come back, but you got a job to do between now and then, and so everyone left that Mount. Allah will look at the Jesus to come back then in a couple days, because they still didn't understand the promise that Jesus was giving them. That promise was not going to be revealed until they got back to the roof and waited for it.

Speaker 1:

You see, sometimes we mistake God. We want God's promise. In the way that we want God's promise, we may be looking for God to heal us physically when the reason why we're sick is God is trying to heal the spirit, because that's a form for healing. We may be looking for physical healing when God is trying to use your pain to show someone else that God is God. We don't know these things because we kind of put God into a box. The same way, these 12 apostles and this group of people try to put Jesus into a box. But God's box is just.

Speaker 1:

You know, the Bible says. You know God said my thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways. And basically and I know I'm going to misquote the scripture here but basically God was telling us that the way we think about things it's just little, it's just petty, it's trivial, but the way he think about things is massive and it's always going to be the big picture. He's already planned all this stuff. He's planned all everything and all you have to do is stand his will, and that will is go tell everybody that Jesus is coming back. But between now and the time Jesus comes back, you can have the spirit of God in you. We call it the Holy Ghost, because it is still the spirit of God and you're supposed to wait for that promise and there's something you're supposed to do before that you have to go get baptized.

Speaker 1:

Now, we can talk about that in a few moments, because we're talking about what is the water baptism. It's in the name of the Father and the name of the Son and the name of the Holy Ghost. Now, these two, three things I just mentioned Father, son and Holy Ghost are not names, they are titles. Just like me, jj, I am a postman, I am a co-worker, I'm a husband, I am a son, I am a brother. But if I were to check you $50 million of a post co-worker son, husband and brother if you took it to Chase Bank or Bank of America or Wells Fargo, they'll look at you like, well, what is it? The power is in the name, the authority is in the name, and that name that we're talking about here, in the name of the Father, son and the Holy Ghost, that name is Jesus. So if you're not baptized right now in the name of Jesus Christ, or if you don't know if you're baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, because God's people baptized in a lot of different ways go get that done. And I can't stress that enough because that is how you ascend every minute. We're gonna talk about that when they get to Acts in the second chapter of Acts. So we're gonna talk about that. But again, the baptism and every one of these disciples that stood on that mountain top knew exactly what Jesus was talking about.

Speaker 1:

All right, that being said, we've come to a really powerful ending of today's episode. Thank you all so much. We're gonna go along today. Thank you so much for sticking with me to the end here, and we're gonna talk more about what happened after, after the Great Commission and cleaning up the physical fact, and then we're gonna get to the really powerful stuff. All right, god bless you, love you all. Tell someone out there that you love them. Tell someone out there that God loves them. Let them see God through you. All right, god bless you all. Thank you.
