Speaker 1:

Thank you so much for joining today's episode of Walk With Me. I am your host, JJ. So good to have each and every one of you with us today. Thank you so much for taking a moment to listen to this podcast. You could be listening to any other podcast or any other thing in the world, but do you have taken a chosen to take few moments to share with us, and I really do appreciate it. It means a lot to me. Thank God for bringing you here, bringing us all together, getting us through another week. Because some people who who don't get through the week, they gotta be honest with that, gotta be blunt with that. But thank you all. Thank you all. Thank you all. Thank you all. We are moving right along. Just so you know, we are coming up on two years, two years being on with me behind this microphone, God guided us through what we're gonna talk about on a weekly basis, and it's all because of you, and I thank you for that. Thank you so much. I was just a quick shout out to our sponsors still. Our old faithful sponsors, two bars and lyricists. He's doing gas was drilled, and that's really nice listening to him evolve and his Christian walk. And and the squares of creations making the cause that she's got new cups that I don't know if she's gonna make swag. She's been kinda hitting at it with, like, pens and stuff like that, but the cups are amazing. I'm pretty sure they're on her TikTok page. It's so exquisite. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. I know this is a pretty hectic time right now for everyone and everyone. But, you know, this just take a moment right now. Just be thankful for what we have. As there are people who are going through it right now, and they are you know, not not feeling not feeling as if their walk has been validated somehow. But listen, the one thing that we gotta understand is that the race is not given to swift and the battle is not given to this drone. All we have to do is hang on and endure to the end. Right? That's all we gotta do. That's all we gotta do. Alright. So with that being said, let's go ahead and keep walking. And we're gonna go ahead and keep kinda pickup where we left off last week. We were talking about the like, the journey to holiness. When we were talking about what the enemies of man of us is what what they are, the devil of the world and the flesh of those three enemies, and they fight against us every single day. When we try to live for God, we try to make it to heaven. So and we're gonna pick right up there because we were talking about the natural man and that man being the person you and I see in the mirror, not not our glorious plus oneself, but the person you see in the mirror every day. The person that understands you the best. And that's the natural man. And the natural man let's let's be honest here. The natural man cannot understand God at all. As a matter of fact, in in first Corinthians, oh, before us, we start going to scripture, no, I have to say it. A matter of fact, there's two things I forgot to cover. If you have any questions or comments, email me, walk with me bible study at g mail dot com. Walk with me bible study at g mail dot com right now. We're just doing questions on the episodes, maybe we can get to the point where I could start putting comments or anything like that as long as and keep them anonymous because, you know, that's just the kind of world we'll live in it today. But on the second thing and more importantly, in my opinion, you know, the questions aren't very important. And I really do appreciate the questions because it helps me kinda gauge where where we need to head. God is meeting us. And so if you send me a question, then just understand that the reason why you sent the question is because I told you to send it. Whether you think you did it or not God told you to send it, and that means that's what God wants us to go. Alright? So the the second biggest thing or equally biggest thing is that we could talk about the scripture, always read a verse or two above with a verse or two below, but preferably the whole chapter. Why? Because context is key. Content is key. I can mislead you. Any way I want to by taking something out of time a text and it added a pound of flavor to it. And then next thing you know, all you got is is cotton candy. That's all. But if you keep everything in context, if we keep everything in context, we cannot be misled. Right? We can't fall off the path. We can't be lost because God didn't just take one scripture and say one verse and then just wait four hundred years to say another verse. Everything is in context. Right? Alright. So that being said, we're gonna go ahead and jump into some of our scripture for today. When we're talking about first Corinthians two fourteen, when we're talking about how the natural man does not really understand the comprehend things of God. But the natural man received it not the things of spirit of God, but they are foolishness on them. Neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. Some people could take that out of context and say that a person has to be spiritual before they can be saved. This is not necessarily true. This is saying, this scripture here is talking about this entity inside of you, your flesh as we like to call it. Your flesh, not someone else's. These things cannot really understand the things of God. The thing and here's a good example. We've all, you, I, everyone, bishop, Deacon, Apostle, whatever, have all had those days. Where we have it was church tonight. We didn't have anything to do. We weren't working, but we didn't wanna go to church. We've all had those days. We've all had those days where we know we should be fasting. God has told us defense, but we just don't want to. That don't want to. That part of the don't want to, that don't want to, that don't want to, stand, why we have to do those things? That's your natural man. Now, the problem with this natural man and that you have to you have to really strive against it, that this has natural man cannot be holy before god. It is is no way for the flesh to be holy. Enromance chapter eight five to eight, it it talks about this a little bit more in-depth. Or they never after the flesh. Do mind the things of the flesh, but they never after the spirit, the things of the spirit. Now we are talking about two different types of people. Not not talking about the the fight inside on a person. We're talking about people who are focused on the things that make them feel good versus things things that are focused on making their spirits strong. Or they just have to the spirit, the things of the spirit. For the heavenly mind, it is but to be spiritually minded as life and peace because why? Because the carnal mind, the mind that is after the field good to get hired. The the the fleshly joy. That is enity against God because it's not subject to the law of God. Neither indeed can it be. So they that are in the flesh cannot please die. Well, JJ, what does that really mean? You ever hear you ever notice somebody when they're doing something wrong, and that's just use an easy subject. Let's use foreign occasion. That's that's easy subject because everyone always thinks about flesh or sex when it comes to heavenly mind. But if if you are if you let's just say you're a court occasion. Okay? You have a sex outside America. When someone comes to tell you about that, hey, man, you really shouldn't be doing that. You don't wanna hear that. There's two waves to this two waves of the accident. You a, don't wanna hear it. Oh, you door or you just outright rejected. And the reason why you don't wanna hear it because your flesh felt good during that sin, but we know the wages of sin are what? Death. So as long as you have my is actually wrapped up into that fin. The only outcome you can have is death. Now. I'm not saying that if you go out and before the king today, you're going to die tonight. That death that we're talking about is a spiritual death. And that is a very bad thing. I've watched people's spiritual diet. It's not it's not cold. It's not, but is tragic. Sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's fast, but it's really bad. You washed your lives just fall apart. Now, one of the things that the bible talks about is sweet and bitter. And and they're literally talking about that in a way that is really referring to our inner man. Is James three in the eleventh. Does the fountain stand for it at the same place for sweet water and bitter? In other words, can spiritual man be carnals? Absolutely not. Can a spiritual man be carnal at the same time? Absolutely not. Now, can you can you alternate between the two? Can you be Carter, one moment and spare it to the next It's a little difficult. The Bible says, you can't because all of these things that come out of your heart are either carnal or spiritual. Now that let me just stop right there and say that does not mean that you have to be so high as oh, so I'm so holy, old I can't laugh at jokes and oh my gosh. I I'm too holy for that and I don't want to and engage in that personality. You don't have to do it. That's not that's not being spiritual. That's not being spiritual. As a matter of fact, that's actually being cardinal on the Pharisee side of things. Because we become too holy too holy for your own good, actually. Too holy to to to not see the fault that you are in. Now, that being said, now we've got all of these enemies that's still out of the way we me address the the old man. What is the new man? What are we striving? What are we looking for now. This this is pretty much the the intention or the the point of all the letters of the of the Bible. In my letters, I mean everything from Romans one and one to the very last verse of Jude. Okay? These are letters that's written from various apostles, mainly Paul to the churches. To remember now to churches, not necessarily to the world, and they used some of his words to propsilitize the world. But remember now these are fifty things written to the established church. Church at Rome, the church at Memphis It's the church and the mosque is the mosque and and a lot of these churches. These are all churches. But what does the work with the spirit? What does the spirit do? What it How does your life change? We had this question a couple weeks ago. I didn't get to it because I knew that we were gonna address it here. What not is when you when your old man becomes new. Now, First off, you gotta understand that the new man has has been given a lot of promises, a lot of promises by God. And these promises these promises are steadfast. They say these things and because their buzzwords and everybody gets to shout and dead, but we don't understand what steadfast means. These promises don't change. Sometimes, they may take a long time to come to pass. But they are in fact promises. Now just as the old man was associated with the curse of sin, then we have to address where that was coming from. And those actions were flowing directly from the inside the heart. In other words, you have to be in your heart before you do it. It doesn't matter if you're eating cornflakes or if you're committing murder. All of these actions start from within. So in order for that to happen, it was necessary for God to create a new heart In us, with the new character races, we're actually taking out the old heart and putting in a new heart. And this is like a a heart transplant, except this is a beward. Luke six and forty five, a good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringing forth that, which is good, an evil man out of the evil treasure of this heart bringing forth that, which is evil for the out of the abundance of the heart that I'm not speaking. We hear that we hear that quoted so much. But we don't want to want to really don't really want to quote the whole thing. We say, well, throughout the about us of that part of the mouth speak. So when when you get that moment, you get that moment when you play a Christian and that whole lot of work comes up, that's the the abundance of your heart. Somebody says something funny and that funny things is sort of that happens to lead you. You're the target of the funny thing and get offended. That that spirit of evil came out of you. K? Now here's the thing that the heart cannot be trusted. You can promise yourself that you're gonna do a thing. You can actually think that you have your arcade stuff. But the the heart cannot be trusted. The heart within you, and I'm not talking about the beating thing that puts the blood throughout the body. I'm talking about your spiritual heart. It cannot be trusted. Jeremiah seventeen, nine, and ten. The heart is deceitful above all the exact inner man there that that you think you can't control is deceitful of all things and desperately wicked, not just a little wicked, not just consistently wicked, but desperately wicked. Who can know it? Verse ten if if I the Lord searched the heart, I tried the brains. He even gave every man according to his ways or according to fruit of his doings. Why? Because it's coming from the heart. Think of let's let's think about David. David was a man at the God's own heart. Right? But David never dreamed when he was slain Goliath that there was murder inside his own heart from that moment. Because when he slew Goliath, he was doted out of a sense of just this. It wasn't murder. But inside because they even never addressed it, they even never knew it was there. There was a murder drawing his in his heart. And so he even though he asked God to search his heart, in song one nine one thirty nine twenty three, says, search me on God and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. And see if there'd be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way never had everlasting. But we don't know what David did. David murdered the man to get his wife. And he did it in such a way that he thought in his mind he really really worked this plan out. It wasn't like he just walked by and saw a brick and it just, you know, he just sort of kicked it over and landed on guy's hit. No. No. No. He plant this out. He sat down and devised this plant, why be this part is desperately wicked. He sat down. He divides it out. He justified it in his mind. He pushed it. He he worked out how he how he could get away with it when no one would know. When it was still murder because he's the one that actively sucked this result. Is that kind of thing is is I mean, we see murders and stuff like this all the time even today. And it takes like years and years and years or something to come up that actually exposed some dead. The the reasoning of this heart this human logic, this the lost of the world, it it cannot discover the things of God, and it cannot be illuminated. High spirit. It it can have the light shine on it. Like, you can be exposed. God will expose you. But they it will not it it will it will not be light coming from it. First grade nineteen is two and eleven. For what man know what the things of man say the spirit of man which is a hymn. Even so the things of God know with no man but the spirit of God. I know. That sounds a little weird. Sound sound a little enigmatic, so as as it was. But, you know, what it's saying is that if you if you think like a man, you're going to act like a man. If you Use human logic. When you're trying to think about things of God, you're automatically starting on handicap me as well. Versus, if you are or more about the spirit of God, if you're more about following and and living in the spirit of God and trusting yourself in the spirit of God, then what you will have is that you'll almost have your you know, always have a leg up on your spirituality. You will have a leg up. You will have and not only that because the spirit of God, more prevalent than the spirit of man, you will be able to determine who around you is not living right like they're supposed to. Now I'm not saying everybody gotta be perfect. I'm talking about this, like, just we really like putting white paint on a graystone. So what is the fruit of the spirit? How is how do we see that? Because it's the fruit of the spirit. It's these things that people will naturally do. That's not forced, not choreographed, not telegraphed, not telegraphed, but these things just naturally come out of people. We call that the true to the spirit. So when the spirit of God is in you or or in somebody that's close to you, you're gonna see certain signs. Galatians five and twenty two. But the fruit of the spirit is long, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance against such there's no law. Did you did you see Did you hear me say anything in there about land hands or somebody in praying a door? Did you hear me say anything about praying for somebody and making them all. I hope. Did you hear me? Did did any of that come out of there? Did you see in there where you said anything about quoting every single scripture in the bible accurately to the team? No. We're talking about fruits of the spirit. We're not trying to impress man. But once we get those through the spirit there, these things that come out will lead us into the, you know, the miracles and and lead us into studying the word of God and lead us into being able to talk to people and witness to them and win them to the doing it to the kingdom and stuff like that. Because and and also, here's the real thing. We enjoy enjoy, like, I can't even explain it to you. The amount of enjoyment that comes to watching someone who was the old man become the new man. It's impossible to understand or to really explain it to you in words that makes sense. But it's it's amazing. Think of I don't know. Think of If you're a car enthusiast, my uncle was a a big car enthusiast. He had a nineteen thirty four bureaus. And he worked on that card. He broke the net card. And in his mind, he had what he thought was going to be, what that card looked like when it was restored. Unfortunately, guy called home before he was able to finish that project, but I'd seen people take little dumps. Little hunks of junk and turn them into shiny new vehicles. I spent a lot of money doing it. But this is exactly what the spirit of God would do to the old man and allow them to be brand new, completely restore without the stand of sin. And If Jesus four twenty four says baby that he put on the new man, which is after god is created in righteousness and truth holiness. That's it. That's what your new man will do. You will seek righteousness, and you will seek holiness, And it is not in the spirit of I gotta be holier you. Or I gotta be holier than thou. Or, you know, you guys are dirty compared to me. No. No. No. That's not the spirit of God. That's also a spirit of air. But when you think were you considering the fact that God saved you and that you are you are being transformed. You're being rebuilt, you're being renewed, and you want everyone to experience that. Everyone I don't they don't care to remember what what skin color they are. It doesn't matter where they live. It doesn't matter how much money they make. In a matter where you saw them, in a matter how dirty they are, how clean they are, what they did to you last week. Oh, yeah. I said that what they did to you last week, what they did to you yesterday, you still wanna see them to be transformed into a new man, a new woman, a new child, And he want that life, that life that springs eternal to bubble up in them, that joy, that same joy that you fail. First got it born again. Now we've all had it. I don't know. Ask yourself right now. Do you remember it? Do you remember that moment that you got born again? I'll never forget it. August of August of twenty twenty I'm sorry. August of nineteen ninety four. That's when I got it. First week of August. And I'll never forget how the day after I I felt as if the world was all new again. In this same world, same room I the same world I I I didn't wanna be a part of anymore than the day previous. The same world I got drug dealers and and drug users and stamps and prostitutes and and liars same world. World film near the me. Why? Because I was a new creature. And it seemed like the sun was brighter and the birds. Character louder. And then I kinda, you know, I came down off that high a little bit. I'm not gonna lie to you guys. Came down off that spiritual high a little bit. And then I realized that the Bible says something about being wise as serpents and harmless as drugs, but you still have to make sure that you are walking around in this world. And even though now you've gotten the hold of those, you gotta turn around and reach back to somebody else. That's our mission. Back there in in right there. That's our mission. Now we're gonna stop you because we are time, but when we come back next week, as a matter of fact, I've been working on an answer about, you know, the life that deceived the world in Moses Goodsey. I'm trying to figure out what to name it. The biggest line the world fell for. That's what we're gonna have to do next week because I've been working on. Somebody sent me a question. It was an evolved question. Stitable is not something that that could be going to one point out. So that's what we're gonna do next week to look down willing, and this guy tells me don't do it. I'm gonna do something else. But listen, thank you all so much for joining us. If you have any questions, don't forget to like share If you have any questions or comments, email me a walk with me bible study at gmail. Walk with me bible study at gmail dot com. Look, all. Thank you so much for joining us. I look forward to seeing you guys. Okay. Listen. When you go out to you, I have a follow-up today. Or tomorrow. Just look at somebody and tell them that you love. No. Don't do it kind of weird. Don't love me. Just tell them that your love will smile and then tell them that you like that's something. You know what? That may have to stop somebody from doing something to themselves. You can't take back. Some people just need to be loved. So tell somebody who love them. Tell somebody you appreciate them. Tell somebody else just thinking about them. Alright. God bless you. See you on the next one.
