It just helps me realize that I'm actually doing what God told me to do. Thank you all so much, thank you. Thank you, now that out of the way, we're going to go ahead and finish up one of the questions that was sent to us a couple weeks ago.

This was about why do you need the Holy Ghost, and I might do some recapping of last week. If I do, it's an inverting, because it's always to make sure that we keep the gospel or keep the truth all in one package. You got to understand this is one Bible. Even though it's 66 books in this Bible, they all work together. So I may recap some stuff and we may go into some new stuff, but I do want to get this wrapped up today and it's very important for a subject such as this.

A lot of times we Christians get a little lazy when people ask very fundamental questions like this. We get a little lazy and we say, well, why don't you want the Holy Ghost? If somebody says, why is the Holy Ghost important? Why do I need it? Why I'm just a good person, why do I need the Holy Ghost? And you say, well, why wouldn't you want it? And the person walks away and like, well, that didn't really answer the question, but I don't want to follow up with it, and that person goes away and misses out on some of the best experiences that they could ever have with God. So, yes, having the Holy Ghost is very important.

Having the Holy Ghost is absolutely very necessary and it's necessary even if and you know, let's I always say this and people kind of look at me crazy when I say, and I say well, what if there's no heaven? And you know this is all it is. Having that experience with God is so such a wonderful feeling, such a wonderful change in your life, such a wonderful experience. And then you have to take into consideration that if there is no heaven and there is no hell, then you had a great life, your life is more peaceful, your life is less stressful. And without that you also have to say well, there is heaven and there is a hell, and the Holy Ghost is your ticket into heaven and your escape pass. You'll get out of jail, free card out of hell.

So and so why do we really need it? You do need it to speak in tongues, and I know that people like to either over exaggerate or and I know I just committed a word problem there over exaggerate or under emphasize the importance of having the Holy Ghost and the importance of speaking to tongues. So some people actually chase tongues and some people try not to speak in tongues because so many people chase tongues. This is a problem that people have and they end up missing out on God. Remember, speaking in tongues is the symptom of having the Holy Ghost. It is not. What am I trying to say here? It is not a you don't speak in tongues to get the Holy Ghost. You get the Holy Ghost to speak in tongues and the speaking in tongues is not for your benefit. Well, not for someone else's benefit. The speaking in tongues is for your benefit Right Now. Why JJ? Why JJ? Why do I need the Holy Ghost?

The best chapter to really go down through this, piece by piece, line by line, is Romans, chapter eight. Now I know we are going to get to Romans eight and nine, where some people use this as a plan of salvation, but this is not a plan of salvation. Remember, the book of Romans was written to a church of people who had already gotten the Holy Ghost and already become a member of the church and already gone through repentance, back to the Jesus name and gotten the Holy Ghost as prescribed in Acts, chapter two, and various other places, various other places in the book of Acts. So they had already gone through all of this. And it apparently and this is just out of the book of JJ here, apparently, someone asked the question of why do we need the Holy Ghost? So please understand, this is not a new question. It's a question that comes up often and it's a, and the fact that it comes up often makes it a legitimate question and it's a. I don't care where the question comes from, but you have to be able to answer that as a person who's living for God and if you're looking to have a better experience with God, you need to have that question answered. So, yes, it's a very viable, legitimate question.

All right, so let's go down through Romans, chapter eight. Now let's start, because in this, this, remember her we have this whole saying on this show, a verse or two above, verse, two below, but preferably the whole chapter. Remember that. Why? Because context is key. Now we have to kind of read the whole book, because we're going to go down through this chapter, romans, chapter eight, and it starts off and we're going to jump around a little bit only for the sake of time. I strongly encourage you, if you have that question, to read the entire chapter, because it addresses it. It's one of the. It's one of the places where Paul really addresses it in detail.

We're going to start off in Romans, chapter eight, verse one. There's therefore now no condemnation of them which are in Christ Jesus, who walked after walked, not after the flesh but after the spirit, which spirit, talking about the Holy spirit, the Holy Ghost, right For the law of the spirit, life in Christ Jesus, have made me free from the law of sin and death. Again, there's another reason why you need the Holy Ghost. It, the way the Holy Ghost guides you and directs you, frees you from the decisions that you would normally make without the Holy Ghost. Well, what do you mean? Jj, let's say for existence, and we're just going to go with things that we would normally do, like say, for example, if you're late and you know you're late, you're going to speak.

The Holy Ghost will say, hey, I don't think you should speak. And you might say to yourself well, you might say back to Holy Ghost, because now this is an internal battle that's going on. You want to speed, all you're gonna say is you shouldn't speed. And while you're debating but I'm gonna be late and you know, and that that looks bad on us and whatever whatever argument you're trying to use to convince the Holy Ghost that you should speed and then just in front of you, a major crash happens, and then you realize that in the time that you took to the Holy Ghost, talk to God that you would have been in the middle of that accident, or maybe you would even have caused that accident and that accident would have been very catastrophic for you. So and I'm using that as a very, very kind of a loose sort of thing we're not just talking about sin. We're talking about sin and death. We're not talking about hey, the Holy Ghost stopped me from going over to that person's house when they're married, or I'm married and doing something that we both regret. We're not talking about that. But yes, the Holy Ghost will prevent you from doing that too.

The Holy Ghost will prevent you from lying or make it very difficult for you to overpower that spirit of God to lie. I've seen people who claim to have the Holy Ghost lie through their teeth and I say to myself well, he's a dead, they haven't been praying, but they don't have the Holy Ghost. But I know I can't trust them anymore. I forgive them for lying to me for now, but I can't trust them anymore because they are some. They are pretending to be someone that they are not. So and that's just verse two.
Speaker 1:
Verse three says for what the law could not do in that it was weak. Through the flesh, god sending his own son and light and so sinful flesh and for sin, condense it in the flesh. And now we've jumped down to verse nine. Well, actually verse five. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, in other words the things of the flesh being sin and death. But they that are after the spirit do mind the things of the spirit, which is life and peace.

And if you don't know, if you don't have the Holy Ghost, there's no way you can really know what I'm talking about here. Now, I'm just going to be straight out, just put it right there on the table. You might have an idea of what we're talking about. But until you get it, until you have the Holy Ghost, until you acknowledge that you have the Holy Ghost, and I'm not just saying pretending you have the Holy Ghost, because I've seen that too Until you, until that happens there's, you don't know what you're missing, and I know you say that too much. Oh my God, these Dixie Creme donuts. You don't know what you're missing? Yeah, we kind of do, but without the Holy Ghost you have no idea what kind of lifestyle you're missing.

So Romans, chapter nine, we jump down up here. Here we go for verse six, or to be chronally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. There we go with that again Spiritually minded, life and peace. Chronally minded is death, sin and death. Why verse seven? Because the carnal mind, or the human mind here is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither, indeed, can be.

How many people have you, how many quote unquote good people, people who were respect, people that are, you know, decent people? How many people have you seen that are like that, just battle off with a lot, or maybe might pick up something that doesn't belong to them and put in their pocket? How many quote unquote church people have you seen them try to use the whole God bless me routine when they're actually stealing? I mean, I've? No, I've seen it. So if I've seen it, I know some of you have seen it, but that's where they're using the carnal mind and not subject to the law of thou shalt not steal, not subject to the law of thou shalt not lie. Remember we're talking about.

Why do I need the Holy Ghost? Because the Holy Ghost can prevent us from doing that. The Holy Ghost would check us. Jj, you know that belongs to somebody. It is at your job in the fridge and it wasn't there yesterday. So you know that belongs to somebody. Put it back. Put it back. Or hey, I, you know, you just saw that $100 bill fall out, that ladies first, don't walk up and step on it. Pick it up and give it back to.

This is what the Holy Ghost will tell you. But you are not in the flesh, within the spirit. This is verse nine. It's, if so, be that spirit of God dwelling you. Now, any, any man have not the spirit of Christ. He is not of his. And here we get down to the other part of why you need the Holy Ghost, because if you don't have the Holy Ghost, you are not a Christian. The Bible says it right here. If any man or woman. If any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his. He don't belong to Jesus. She don't belong to Jesus. They don't belong to Jesus If they don't have the Holy Ghost. And I'm talking about really have the Holy Ghost. I'm not just talking about believing that they have the Holy Ghost, because if you have the Holy Ghost, it certain things will follow, certain symptoms will appear. You'll speak in tongues, you will. You will change a lot of your aspects of your life. Some of it will just be automatic.

For instance, uh, when I got the Holy Ghost, I didn't even realize that I had stopped cursing. I didn't even realize it until somebody really made me mad and I went to go to try to curse and I told mouth shut up. I Just couldn't. I came out like this, like that. It was really funny. But and everybody looking at me, what's wrong with him? Like it was really kind of crazy, but it really made me really mad. And was that work? And uh, I think they was playing around and something fell on my hand or something like that. This was like 30 years ago. Details escaped me, but I was really mad and uh, and I went to go curse and In my mind I wanted to curse. I really wanted to curse. I couldn't find the curse words and my mouth just went all stupid. So, yes, this is. I hadn't even realized up to that point I had stopped cursing. So there are certain things will be working. Gotta be working on you behind the scenes, um.
Speaker 1:
But it's the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you. The same spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead, bringing life and peace, is in you. He that raised up christ foundation, also quickening immortal bodies by his spirit that dwell in you. Now let's go down to verse 14, because I see that I'm running out of time. For as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God. There we go again. There's an entirely new reason why you need the holy ghost Because, whether you want to or not, whether you will admit it or not, you really want to be led by the spirit of God, because you want to be you're listening to this podcast right now because you really want to be Either considered a son or a daughter of God.

You really want to be a Chrissy. You really want to get your life together. You're trying to figure out how to make it to heaven. This is how we do it, for you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear. You're not. In other words, you're not gonna be a scary slave to sin. You have received the spirit of adoption whereby we cry I'm a father. In other words, jesus is now Okay. So the spirit itself bear witness, with our spirit, that we are who, the children of God. This is just backing up the previous things. This is why it's important to keep Scripture in context, but I don't want to get off on that tactic. And if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs of Christ, if so, be that we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

So you want to know why you need the Holy Ghost. That's one of the biggest reasons why you need the Holy Ghost, one. You want to be led by the spirit of God, you want to be considered a son or a daughter of God. So again, just to recap, hey, you can't get into heaven without it. That's your ticket, that's your, that's your john. Three and three and three and five. You can't get into heaven without the Holy Ghost. And if you don't get into heaven. There's only one other place you go. There's no purgatory. There is no Davey Jones locker even though I love that movie series there is no. There is no middle ground. It's either heaven or hell. That's it. There's no reincarnation. I know we come up with a lot of things to kind of Asuage our souls, but there's either heaven or hell, and get into heaven is the key here. So, john, three and three, three, five. Matter of fact, just read verses one through ten and that'll tell you Exactly why you you've got to have it, because there's no way you're gonna get in there.

And once you get the Holy Ghost, certain things are going to start happening immediately. The first thing that's going to happen is that you're gonna start speaking at times. I asked chapter two. I'm not talking about hook on my side time, my time driver blue-hundie. No, we're not talking about that. We're talking about actual tones and I mean I I can't really explain it in an adequate way and People say I could talk very well and draw pictures of words, but it's really kind of a. It's almost like you stuck your Home art into a high voltage socket. No, like your whole body just jumped into a whole high voltage socket, like. It's kind of like that. Every time I've seen anyone actually get the Holy Ghost, this is what happens and some people On our initial baptism of the Holy Ghost was speaking tongues and nonstop for hours, for hours, churches over.
Speaker 1:
We still in the prayer room two o'clock in the morning, still praying. We're like, oh, my god, I gotta give up to work. Are they gonna be done? But you know, it is such a wonderful thing watching this birth happens. The Bible talks about it being a travail and I've never seen a person travail in birth and just be like, okay, who is a baby? No, this is a whole thing, is a whole process.
Speaker 1:
But even before you go from this life, there's a benefit to being in this life with the Holy Ghost because after you get up, that these you done for that moment, speaking in tongues, that's your way. No, connected with God, who really need to connect with God. That that thing that is really bothering you. That scenario at work, that scenario at home, with your finances, which are your family, your kids acting up, or you and your wife are arguing, yes, and Holy Ghost, people can't argue and fight, they can have disagreements, but the Holy Ghost will tell you hey, let's watch this right now, because it's almost bedtime and you should not allow the Sun to go down on your lap.

That's what the Bible says, and the Bible says the husband loves your wives is quite well, the church and wise. To miss yourself to your husband. See, this is what the Holy Ghost is there for. To say, hey, this is what this is. What does say is the Lord, and this is how you guys need to fix this thing in marriage. Holy Ghost will prevent a lot of problems in the small stages and they can be fixed, and the Holy Ghost can actually guide you and your family. As long as everybody's praying and everybody's got the Holy Ghost and everybody's doing what they're supposed to do, holy Ghost can guide you where you need to go to avoid Let allowing your marriage to die. Avoid watching your kids get Seduced by the world and go out into some of these things that we see these kids doing. Now. You can avoid, you know, allowing you, know yourself to be deceived. Listen, y'all Speaking of that. We are in a very perilous time.

I just heard something the other day about how the banks are trying to digitize your money, in other words, surrender your paper money, and this will all be digital. Now, what would that? Open the the? What was that? Open the door to one? It was. First thing you do is open the door to fraud, because If it's not in physical form it's easier to steal, which is going to bring on the need for security, which then brings on what we commonly refer to as the mark of the beast, and they're going to present it to you in such a way that it'll just be oh, this is identity theft protection, but you can't buy and sell without it, and that's what the market of the beast is for. You can't buy a cell without it, you can't buy man, you know and let me just allow me a couple minutes here, because I was thinking about this the other day this whole buying a selling thing.

I know I like to read some, you know, post raptor books, and they have this group of freedom fighters and, and right away, I love the left behind series. If you, if you so inclined, get those books. They are wonderful. I think it's Frank Peretti, is it not sure? But it's called the left behind series, left behind and tribulation for us. And they have them on Great, not Netflix, pure flicks, and I'm often a tangent, but it kind of. It kind of allows, it kind of allows us feeling that, hey, it's going to be a way. You can still.

No, no, no, you are not going to be able to buy or sell without it. The mark of the beast will not allow. Without not having the market be, you can't buy. In other words, you can't go to Walmart and pick up anything. You can't sell, which means you can't clock in the work because you can't sell your time to get paid and Before, and Jesus said, will be to those with child in those days. So you're going to be looking at your kids and trying to figure out how am I gonna feed them, because I have to go and it's my duty to take care of them and I have to Figure out something. But and this is why we need the whole, I am, I am hopeful, I am, I have faith that God will call us out of here before them. But in order to be called out here, you also have to have the Holy Ghost. So we're going back to that whole thing where we need the Holy Ghost and you have to be living right Now.

Quickly, quickly, jj, because I know someone's gonna ask this question and I don't have time to fully answer it now, but so I'm gonna ask this question. But yes, the Holy Ghost is something that need to have and once we get it, we're not just because you're born of the spirit, that doesn't mean that you're not a deep description and at some point you can allow the Holy Spirit to leave you. And the Bible is very explicit and this is part of the reason why JJ never says things like once say no, they say. That's why I never use the term I'm saying because I could have the Holy Ghost today and I false it Tomorrow, be attached the way I could be out on the street, make it talk to the tree. So it's very important that we understand exactly what this Holy Ghost is about, that we need it and why we need it, and it's not just just not just for church time. I know I'm recapitulating, gonna wrap it up, it is having the Holy Ghost is not just for church time.

Having the Holy Ghost is a daily thing. Just like you need your your right hand to work with your left hand, you need them a little. Spirits work with you and to get you to, each and every day, guide you through your trials, guide you through your low times, to guide you through Medical conditions, guide you through, again, problems you may have at home, problems you may have, a job, how to Behave when the devil comes at you so that you don't lose your job. I got a whole testimony about that when I walked in and just real quick, we're wrapping up. I walked in, there was it was really coming out JJ on the job. Oh, my god, it was coming out there and as I was walking, I knew why they come to get me. They'll come to get me to take the walk across the hall To go get fired.

And I sat down and I said listen. He said, well, jj, what do you think about this job? I said, well, you know I'm messing up a lot, but I'm gonna get this job, I'm gonna get it down pat. And how has I didn't notice until then, till after I said it that there was a manila fold that was empty, but it was turned over on top of some papers. And he said I guess he stopped for a moment because he didn't expect that answer. And he said well, because you took responsibility, you know, I think you deserve another chance. You took responsibility of your problems. And I didn't say these things. I mean, when I open my mouth, the Holy Ghost words came out like yeah, I was messing up, and the Holy Ghost make you do that. The Holy Ghost make you honest. Yeah, I messed up and I don't know what happened. I, but I going to go back and research and find out where I messed up and how to fix it. I will get this fixed. And he said OK, you know what, I'm going to give you another chance. And that was seven years ago. I was still at that job.

I'm not saying I'm perfect, oh no, not at all. Jj is not perfect. But anything that he does but we're walking in the spirit of Christ will help you, guide you, keep you out of a lot of unnecessary problems, all right, so, yes, that's why we need the Holy Ghost. And there are so many more reasons. I can spend the next four to five weeks on why we need the Holy Ghost, why do we need it. And, like I said, if somebody wants to ask that question, you go right ahead and we will find. By that I mean, can you lose the Holy Ghost? And then we can go into that. Otherwise we will continue on our walk again. All questions are answered. Walk with me.
