What if salvation isn't just a one-time event but a continuous journey that shapes our entire spiritual experience? Join me as we explore this profound idea in "Walk With Me." We'll unravel the complexities of the oneness of God, using insights from the King James Version to highlight the unity within the Godhead and its impact on our faith. This episode's discussions sprout from listener inquiries, providing clarity on common misconceptions about the roles of Jesus and the Holy Ghost. We invite you to question, ponder, and engage as we navigate these deep theological waters and trace the origins of various denominations.

Ever questioned the traditional interpretation of the Trinity? We're challenging conventional understandings by examining the linguistic and theological nuances across diverse biblical translations. From the names Jehovah and Yahweh to Yeshua, we uncover how these names portray Jesus as God throughout the scriptures. Context is key, and we'll show you how different translations can shape our grasp of the Trinity concept. In our final segment, we address the power of faith and resilience amidst natural disasters, focusing on community strength and the role of prayer during such trying times. Let's connect, support, and find solace in our shared faith journey.

Speaker 1:

We're on the second episode of Denominations and why Denominations came to be, but I wanted, I felt like I ran out of time last week when I was talking about the oneness of God, because, no matter how many verses you give, it's more verses, it's more biblical confirmation about there being one God. And you might ask me, why is that so important. It's important because you got to know who you're worshiping, who you're living for, who created you and why you were created and why you're living for them and why it's important and why you're living for them and why it's important. And it's like, basically, in order to To get the revelation of who God is, why God saved. Then it's just important to know Exactly, know it from the beginning. Right, it's like trying to learn a job and jumping in halfway. You can't do that. Got to start the beginning. You got to get the orientation. That's where we are right now.

Speaker 1:

So, that being said, if you have any questions, if this generates any questions, feel free to send those questions to walk with me. Bible study at Gmail dot com. Welcome with me. Biblestudy at Gmail.

Speaker 1:

Trust me when I tell you I absolutely love questions. I absolutely do. As a matter of fact, this entire series of denominations was spawned out of a question that I could not answer with a one-line, one-scripture reference. Okay, so I love each and every one of you. Thank you all so much for the questions. As a matter of fact, all I'm waiting for is to go ahead. There's another question that's going to be coming right behind this episode or right behind this. So I love questions. Do not hesitate to send me questions. All right, love each and every one. So let's get into it. Let's go ahead and take this walk Right, walk with me. Go ahead and take this walk right, walk with me. So we're, we just gotta. I just want to wrap up a few extra scriptures about oneness of god and why it's so important. Then we're going to get into some other things, right, but the first thing we want to do is get this out. We want to turn the thesis course and and I generally prefer the king James Version, even though there's some issues with it I generally prefer it because the language is as harsh as I need it. Now, there's some people who prefer other Bibles, but then there are other Bibles who literally change the definition of some scriptures, so that's why I generally tend to stick with the KJV.

Speaker 1:

So Ephesians 4 and 10, he that descended is the same also that ascended up, far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. So, just like we did with the mystery of the Godhead, we have to ask ourselves who is he? He that descended or he that came down is the same that ascended up? So who was ascended up? Jesus was ascended up. He was ascended up where, into heaven, but he always. He also was above heaven, right, and how he might fill all things. And what? Who did any filling of any cup? It was the Holy Ghost. So we're now we're not talking about the Holy Ghost of Jesus and then God, right, but and it makes it, if you're not very careful, you would think, because he's talking about three different things. But at no point In that verse Did it say anything about plurality. It said he, he ascended, was the same that descended. So this is all one person and that same one person fills all things. So we're still talking about the spirit of God, which is one spirit of God.

Speaker 1:

Now, colossians 1 and 27. Now, colossians 1 and 27,. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you, gentiles too, and this is the secret. Christ lives in you. What are we just talking about a moment ago? He might fill all things. Christ lives in you. This gives you the assurance of sharing his glory. So who lives in us? It is the Holy Ghost. Wait, I thought you were talking about Jesus. Well, jesus is the Holy Ghost who lives in us. According to this scripture, it's Christ. Wait, I thought you were talking about the Holy Ghost. It's not a contradiction. The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, is Jesus. The Bible says God is a spirit, not that God is three spirits. God is a spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in truth.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so Revelation 1 and 8. I am Alpha and Omega. Omega, not, we are. I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. There's lord, the lord god, not the lord god. I am the one who is, the one who always was and the one who is still to come, the Almighty. So let's go back and break it down just the same way we did the other two verses. I am the one who is, or who is, jesus, the one who always was, who always, who came before everything. We call him the Almighty God and who is still to come. Wait a minute, still to come. That's the Almighty. And so once we figure this out, it begins to really start to kind of drive in that there's only one God, he's the same, there's only one God.

Speaker 1:

Isaiah 44 and 24. Thus saith the Lord thy redeemed, the one who has redeemed you Remember, we're talking Old Testament. Now, this is Isaiah the prophet. Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that makes all things, that stretched forth the heavens alone and spread it abroad the earth, by myself. He did it by himself, not with a council or a committee, no, by myself.

Speaker 1:

Deuteronomy 6 and 4. And this is one I always write because it's always easy to remember Hear O Israel, the Lord, our God, in other words, the people's God, is one Lord, not three Lords, not one Lords. It is one Lord. And in Deuteronomy 32, 39, look now, I myself am he, and there is no other God but me. I am the one who kills and gives life, I am the one who wounds and heals. No one can be rescued from my powerful hand. Now, remember, now we're talking about Deuteronomy. This is the laws. These are the laws that were given to Israel after leaving Egypt. Why is that important? Because the people in Egypt just saw God triumph over all the false idols. That was in Egypt. I didn't need a chance. I'm Him. I walked in and kicked all those false titles right onto their faces. I am him Now a lot of times, and this is where it gets a little confusing.

Speaker 1:

Again, I'm not saying that people who subscribe to these theories are bad people. They're not. Some of them are very wonderful people. They are very wonderful people and they even mean what. It's just that there was something that's missing and a lot of times, people who have these theories they say well, jj, look at all the names that we have, and these are not little names, they're names, they're not. They're not titles, they're names. Okay, fine, let's go ahead and look.

Speaker 1:

Now. There is a title that appears around 250 times. We're talking about that. That word is El. Now that actually stands for a Hebrew word. That basically means strength of character, character of strength, in that order. So you will see things like Elohim, like in Genesis 1 and 1, creator, supreme, god, adonai, exodus 13, 17, which means Lord, master, possessor, owner.

Speaker 1:

Now I want to stop you right there, because he never said those were his names. Those are names that we gave him. Man gave God, because we didn't know. We didn't know God's name. As a matter of fact, there's a verse on the top of my head where God said but by my name, jehovah, I was not known to them. In other words, they didn't know me by that name, but they have all these other names for me Because they did not know who I was. Now said I in Genesis, 17, 1 and 2, the almighty God, god all powerful, jehovah Nisi, exodus 17, 15. And this is after now God said to Moses by my name, jehovah, I was not known to them. So now Moses said hey, his name is Jehovah. Okay, so the Lord, my banner Jehovah, his name is Jehovah. Okay, so the Lord, my banner, jehovah, nisan. Jehovah Rapha, exodus 15, 26,.

Speaker 1:

The Lord who heals, jehovah Jireh. Now, I know you've heard these in some of your churches, some of your gatherings Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides. Jehovah is identical, is identical the Lord of righteousness. Jehovah Shalom, the Lord of provides Jehovah is identical. God's decanate, the Lord of righteousness, jehovah Shalom. The Lord of peace, jehovah Roshan, the Lord, my shepherd, jehovah Mekadeth. Good God, our sanctifier, jehovah Shabbat, ezekiel 4835. The Lord who cares for us. Now, remember, in last week's episode I said be careful of Yahweh and Yeshua.

Speaker 1:

That whole thing that has gone back and forth. Here's where it starts Hebrews 1 and 4. Because now we're not speaking Hebrew anymore, we're speaking Greek, right? And this is the letter written to the Hebrews in Greek. Hebrews 1 and 4, salvation.

Speaker 1:

From where did the son inherit his name? He could only have inherited his name from the father that the father himself possessed. So the answer seems to be quite apparent that when someone keeps in mind that the father's just by one day yeah, or yeah 49 times, the whole test really does. It's 49 times the system, maybe. Or J E over that. This is the name that was actually the inherited name. J-e is God. God with us is Jehovah. Jesus is God saves See G-E. I'm sorry, j-e, j-e. Isaiah 12, 1-3.

Speaker 1:

Now, this actually makes a very great picture as far as a revelation of who Jesus is. Now let's go through this a little slowly, and in that day thou shalt say O Lord, I will praise thee, though thou wast angry with me. Thy anger is turned away and thou comfortest me. Behold, god is my salvation, god's salvation, god's salvation. Jesus, I will trust and not be afraid for the Lord. Jehovah is my strength and my strong. He's also become my salvation and my song is also become my salvation. So God with us became God saved. Right now and I've got to finish up the verse. Therefore, with joy, he shall draw water out of the wells of salvation Very important salvation, very important. Again, he went from God with us to God saved in those three verses.

Speaker 1:

Right, the King James Version does use the word salvation in these verses, but again, the original Hebrew word was Jehovah. So this is where people start saying, okay, yahshua, yahweh, yahweh, because the letter J-E doesn't really appear that way in the Hebrew scripture. It's more of almost, kind of like a, almost like a, like a ra sound Like Yehovah, like Yehovah, yehovah Yahweh, and Yarova Like Yava, yava, yahweh. And that's where people started getting that. But if you read it in Hebrew and this is the Hebrew names version, and again you take what you want Isaiah is the same verse.

Speaker 1:

It says In that day you will say I will give thanks unto you, o the Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger is turned away and you comfort me. Behold, god is my Yeshua, jesus. I will trust, I will not be afraid for the Lord. The God has become my strength and song and he not. They has become my Yeshua, which is Jesus. Therefore, with you, you shall draw out the water of the wells of Yeshua Jesus. That way it starts to make a little bit more sense. Yeshua or Yeza Jesus is the Hebrew name for Jesus, and every New Testament book calls Jesus Jesus, but we like to say it's Jesus because it's easier to pronounce, but it's the same person. God has become my Jesus.

Speaker 1:

Now there is a set of scriptures that really are easy to compare, a set of scriptures that really are easy to compare, and what I like about it is that if you look in the New Testament, you can actually refer them back to the Old Testament, such as Revelation 1 and 1 through 8, genesis 17 and 1. If you compare those two scriptures, they actually are confirmations of each other, like Jesus was the Almighty and the almighty was God. John 8 and 58,. Jesus was the I am Exodus 3.14, and the I am was God. So there is no contradiction there. Jesus, the New Testament explains the Old Testament, revelation 22, 13.

Speaker 1:

Jesus was the first and the last. Now wait a minute. If there's more than one God. There cannot be a first and the last. There just absolutely cannot be a first and the last. Isaiah 44, 6. And the first and last was God.

Speaker 1:

God is a title. We capitalize it because it means it's a holy God. This is a holy title and Jesus is his actual name. New Testament name for Jehovah. Matthew 23 and 8. Jesus was the one master. Malachi 1 and 6. Jesus was the one master. Malachi 1 and 6, and the one master was God. I can keep going with this. Luke 1 and 68 Jesus was the one redeemer. Isaiah 41 and 14 the one redeemer was God. Again, god is the title. Jesus is the name. Philippians 2-10, for every knee must bow to Jesus. Isaiah 45-23 Every knee must bow to God. John 1-3-10. Isaiah 44-24. Genesis 1-1. And the one Jesus was the one. Jesus was the one creator. The one creator was God, and I can go on and on.

Speaker 1:

So now people will tell me and I've gotten this question before you know what about 1? John 5 and 7? All right, well, let's look at it. And the spirit must bear witness. And the spirit is true. There are three that bear record in heaven the word, the father and the Spirit. Is true, there are three that bear record in heaven the Word, the Father and the Holy Ghost. But then it comes right back and it says these three are one. This is why this is why, walker, if you've ever listened to this podcast more than me I always say if someone asks you about a verse, or we've talked about a verse, always read the verse or two above it or the verse or two below it. Or we talk about a verse, always read the verse 2 above it or the verse 2 below it, but preferably the whole chapter. Why is that Concept is key.

Speaker 1:

So now let's read the entire 5, chapter, 5, 6 through 8, right, this is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ, not by water only, but by water and blood. Now, out of his belly flowed what Right? And they pierced him in his side. Blood and water came out, and it is the spirit that bear witness, because the spirit is truth. But there are three that bear record in heaven the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth the Spirit, the Water and the Blood. And these three agree in one Because these are literal manifestations of the same God.

Speaker 1:

Now, if you don't like the King James Version now, you can read it in the New Living Translation. There it says and Jesus was revealed as God's Son by His baptism in water and by shedding His blood on the cross, not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit, who is truth, confirms it with this testimony. Now that does make it sound as if there's two people talking, but I promise you, the Spirit is another title, another job, manifestation. We have these three witnesses the spirit, the water and the blood, and these three are three.

Speaker 1:

Now, if you ask me, this is why I stick to the King James Version, because when they translate it it really starts to lean more towards the idea of a trinity. Those translations are very different and the King James Version had an entire sentence that wasn't in the original. The New Living Translation is a little bit better at explaining it, but without having the context, it makes it sort of seem as if they're trying to say there is a third as a trinity, a third as a trinity. 1 John 5 and 7,. Very few late manuscripts add in heaven, the Father one and the Holy Spirit in these three are one and we have witnesses on earth, but who? So what does this tell you? It just tells you that there are many different translations, that if you're not paying attention and you just read it, it gives you. It can kind of lead to. It lends weight to the idea of the Trinity.

Speaker 1:

But in order for that to happen, you have to discard all the verses that we talked about so much, and this is a very dangerous position. You have to discard the fact that El, as in El Shaddai, means God. You have to discard that God is a title, because otherwise you're thinking that there's not just two gods, three gods. It's like a whole God council, it's like a God congress, and nothing would ever get done. Because if all these gods are almighty and the beginning and the end, then nothing gets done because they're always arguing with each other.

Speaker 1:

This is where you get a lot of mythology. You get a lot of mythology. Greek mythology is good. This god is angry at this god and this god had a son with this person and that person with this person. But we have Hercules and stuff like that. They're really nice fables and stuff. But when people start to live and worship these false idols, it gets to be problematic. And now someone like me has to come along and say, hey, that's a nice story, it's great, but this Bible right here, which I live by, say that this is not the way it went.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and that being said, I mean we're going to wrap it up and before I do, I just want to pray for everyone who is dealing with who dealt with Hurricane Helene. It's going to be dealing with Hurricane Milton. We're having a pretty serious year this year. You know what God is faithful. Please understand. God is what God is faithful. Please understand God is faithful, god is faithful. Remember, we had, a couple weeks ago, we had a lesson about God answers all prayers, okay.

Speaker 1:

So listen, keep your faith, stay in contact with people, let them know you're okay and check on them. Let them tell you if they're okay. All right, god is good. God is bigger than any storm. He's stronger than any storm and I look forward to seeing you all on the next one. But in the meantime, get in touch with somebody, check their area, area, let them know. I know there's probably going to be some fun set up, not necessarily for this podcast, only because I simply don't have the time to manage. I'm not going to take your money and go buy a new car. I'm not going to do that, but if you there's a a reputable charity that's giving to these people, by all means contribute, contribute, alright, I love you all. See you all on the next one. Be blessed.
