JJ

We were, as you might have noticed, we did kind of miss a week and I apologize for that. So eventually you guys are going to get two episodes in one week. That's just because really just poor management and I didn't even when we started this podcast, I didn't even think to consider setting up a mobile unit, like a lot of podcasters do. But here's what happened. We had a conference that we were out of town and learning a lot and it was basically it was basically a women's conference that I went with my wife. So that notwithstanding, we are back.

Speaker 1:

I'm so glad to have each and every one of you here, so good to have each and every one of you on the podcast and sending me questions. I've got all your questions and eventually we will get to them, because I love answering biblical questions. Speaker 1:

Well, I'll give you guys a little bit of a hint. So there's been a preacher, a pastor, that has asked me to fill in for him. So I've been filling in every uh, every week. So if you're on youtube and you see this, um, this episode, then you'll also see episodes where you know I've been actually speaking. So, uh, that's a very big step for me because you guys, I, you guys, I would rather just be on a few shouting hallelujah, uh, but you know God is going to do what God is going to do. And I have learned a long time ago just go with it, just just smile, thank God, go with it Cause you try to fight God. It's a you're not going to win. So with it, because you try to fight God, you're not going to win. So just loving everything that God is doing. Love each and every one of you.

Speaker 1:

Thank you all for joining us. You can be listening to any other podcast, but you've chosen to listen to this one. I really do appreciate it. We're just going to continue on because I'm still getting questions about the oneness of God. So we decided that we're going to. We talked about some of the title names in the Old Testament and I just want to cover those, and then we're going to go into the titles of Jesus and you're going to start seeing a lot of things sort of fall into place place here.

Speaker 1:

One of the things you know is is we have to make sure that we cover, because this is one of the rules of the podcast. It ain't share it with 10 people, it ain't. It ain't pay a subscription or, and one rule of this podcast is to, uh, when we talk about a scripture, we usually talk about a scripture. We usually talk about a scripture for the sake of time. So what we want to do is pause the podcast, pause the episode and read a verse or two above and a verse or two below, because context is key and you will see it today. So we're going to cover a lot of individual scriptures and it's going to cover a lot of individual scriptures and it's going to take a lot of study.

Speaker 1:

But this is what if you really want to be led in the truth, led in the word, it just takes a little bit more than cursory reading. You've got to kind of study it like we studied. You know math in school, school science in school. You didn't, uh, look at the periodic table and memorize it one time. You didn't learn your multiplication tables just one time. You took a lot of drilling, a lot of going over it. Sometimes you got it wrong. Sometimes you have to go back and get it right. You had to take a test to learn it, to make sure you express the knowledge of learning it. So this is kind of the same way. So we're going to jump right into it, because this is probably going to be a two episode subject.

Speaker 1:

All right, so some of the the deity names or the titles of deity in the old testament. I believe we might have gone over them, but I just want to recap. Most of the time in the Old Testament there was a compound title and we are just going to shoot right down through the word Godhead. We're going to talk about compound titles and what those titles mean. In Genesis it started off at 22 and 14 with Jehovah Jireh. What that means is the Lord will provide. I want you to start noticing the pattern.

Speaker 1:

In Exodus 15 and 26, you see the term Jehovah Rapha, the Lord that healeth. Rapha, the Lord that healeth. In Exodus 17, 8 through 15, you see Jehovah Nisi, which is the Lord our banner, or the Lord our standard, or the Lord that announces us Right Judges 6 and 24, the Lord our peace, otherwise known as Jehovah Shalom. This is why and if you've heard people say the term Shalom, you kind of understand they say that as they are greeting you or walking away, like we do in the urban times. We used to say yo, peace out, peace man, and that means I'm walking away having a day Right, and that means I'm walking away having a day Right. Psalm 23 and 1. Jehovah Ra, which is the Lord, our shepherd, jeremiah 23.6. Jehovah 6. I always get this one wrong. Sikhenu, which is the Lord our righteous. Ezekiel 48.35. Jehovah Shammah, the Lord, our righteousness. Ezekiel 48, 35. Jehovah Shammah, the Lord, is present.

Speaker 1:

Now, all of these were names that we sort of gave to God because God had manifested in this particular way, in this particular time, and this only came after God finally said but by my name, jehovah, I was not known to them when he finally revealed his name. That's when mankind, because of just who we are, we like to name stuff, and what we did Is we. We put this manifestation, we put a name for this manifestation. So when, when god was raining down manna out of heaven, it was jehovah jireh, because god will provide bread for us, you know. And the children of israel had the plague and you know, the snakes came and bit everybody. Jehovah Rapha, because the Lord healed everybody of the of the snake bite, of the poison, and by everybody I mean everybody who survived, you know, and I can continue going down that way.

Speaker 1:

But we want to make sure that we we understand why these names are the way they are and how it would translate into the name of Jesus and why it makes sense. Now, one of the things that the prophets did is they always seemed to call back to those manifestations of the same God, and they were very specific in telling you that God is a jealous God. God is a God, one God I am Even. God even told Moses tell him I am sent, not, we are, I am that I am. I tell him I am sent you, not, we are, I am that, I am, I am that I am. Now, that phrase right there. You could spend 20 hours just on that phrase, because a lot of times we just glaze over it. We're not really considering what God is saying.

Speaker 1:

In fact, zechariah 14.9 says something very interesting. He says that there's one Lord and his name is one. So now, when we start saying things like three persons in a Godhead, what we're saying is there's three gods and then we have to have three names. So because the reason why we say that is because a person is identified by their name, not necessarily by their job title or by their manifestation or by the things we do. For instance, I can be a husband, I'm always going to be a husband, I'm always going to be a son and I'm always going to be a co-worker. I may not be a co -worker at the same job, but I am a co-worker and I am a son and I am a husband. But if you write a check, you write a check for any amount of money. There's nobody that can cash that check because there's no name on it.

Speaker 1:

However, in Zechariah 14.9, that prophet clearly states his name is one, and in Matthew 28.19, they're using the term name as singular. Well, what is that one name? We do find it at the answer in Acts 4 and 12. Peter alludes to it in Acts 2.38. And that there is no other name. There's conclusive proof that there's one Lord and his name is Jesus.

Speaker 1:

So now, with the few moments we're going to have left, we're going to start running through a lot of New Testament references or titles of Jesus, and a lot of them are in the New Testament, but I think there's a couple of them in the Old Testament. But remember a verse or two above, a verse or two below, okay, so all in all, that's a manifestation of Jesus. The all in all Colossians 3 and 11. All in all, that's a manifestation of Jesus. The all in all Colossians, 3 and 11. Almighty which is, which was and which is to come. Revelation 1 and 8. They're talking about Jesus here, alpha and Omega, which is called To the side of another.

Speaker 1:

Intercession 1, john, 2 and 1. Ancient of days, now that's going back to Daniel 7 and 21. As a matter of fact, it was a revelation to me that that fourth person in the fire with the three Hebrew boys who we refer to as Shadrach, meshach and Abednego However, those were not their names. I challenge you to go find those names that fourth person was Jesus, and the reason why we know that is because Nebuchadnezzar even said it. Nebuchadnezzar said this is God over here. Even though he went off and worshipped his own idols, he saw God. That's a whole sermon. We're not going to get into it right now, but we see Jesus manifest in the book of Daniel, beginning and the ending.

Speaker 1:

Revelation 1 and 8. Bread of life John 3, 6 and 35. Bright and morning star, revelation 22, 16. Captain of the host of the Lord, joshua, 5, 14. It's not just in the New Testament. You see it in the Old Testament too. Captain of Salvation, hebrews 2 and 10. Chief Shepherd 1 Peter, 5 and 4. Jesus among 10,000. That's in Psalm of Solomon, 5 and 1. Counselor, 9 and 6. It also goes on to say mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, all in that same Isaiah 9 and 6.

Speaker 1:

Daysman, or now daysman, is more like the umpire or arbitrator, like a go-between. You see that in Job, 9 and 33. Dayspring, which is like the dawn, you know, we're referring to the brightness and the hope that the dawn brings. Luke, 1 and 78. Emmanuel, god with us, 1 and 23. Now, that's right there. His name is Emmanuel, which means God with us. This says, you know, if you read it out, the Hebrew, jehovah is God with us in the Hebrew right and if you read it for Jesus in the Greek it's God saved. So we're gonna go back to Isaiah 9 and 6.

Speaker 1:

We were talking about everlasting father, eternal life going to be first. John, 5 20, father Matthew, 28 19. First and the last revelations, 1 17. Born from the dead. Colossians, 1 18. First group of them that slept. I know these are all just titles, manifestations of things that Jesus had done first. Corinthians, 1 and 20. Friend that stick closer than a brother. We all hear that and we all know that we're talking about Jesus. But you see that in Proverbs, 18 and 24. Great God and Savior, titus, 2 and 13. Good Shepherd, john, 2, I'm sorry, 10 and 11. Holy Ghost, matthew, back to 28 and 19. Head of the Body, colossians, 1 and 11. Holy Ghost, Matthew, back to 28 and 19. Head of the Body, colossians 1 and 18. High Priest, hebrews, 3 and 1. Now we talked about the I Am, that I Am is in Exodus. 3, 14 and John 8, 24.

Speaker 1:

A lot of times you will see the same manifestations in the New Testament as you see in the Old Testament Judd Acts 17 and 31. Jehovah, isaiah 4, z and 3. King of Kings, revelations 19 and 16. And that same verse goes on to say Lord of Lords, living Bread, john 5, 51. Lions of the Tribe of Judah, revelations 5 and 5. Messiah, john, 4 and 25. Man of Sorrow this is Isaiah forecasting the crucifixion of Jesus. 53 and 3. Mediator we talked about that earlier. The go-between, the arbitrator, 1 Timothy, 2 and 5. No-transcript, this is a title of where he was from. Matthew 2 and 33. Back to Isaiah, 9 and 6.

Speaker 1:

We're talking about the Prince of Peace, the priest, after the order of the Melchizedek, of Melchizedek, hebrews 5 and 6. Now you always want to have an interesting study. We can study out Melchizedek, because the Bible is so Can't be talking about Right, resurrection and life John 11 to 25. The root and offspring of David, that is correct. Revelation 22 16. Because his earthly body came from that lineage of David. Now, keep in mind, jesus was in existence long before David was even thought about. But he's also referred to as the root of David.

Speaker 1:

The Rock of Ages Isaiah 26 and 4. Rose of Sharon, lilia of the Valley, song of Solomon, 2 and 1. Seed of the Woman Genesis 3, 15. What, yes, when God was making his judgment, he said the devil shall bruise the seed's heel, but the seed shall bruise his head. By his head. He's talking about the devil's head. We as man could never be bruising the devil's head, because this is actually the seed that God was talking about when he was given the judgment. He was also given a prophecy that we as man would eventually have a role model, so to speak, that we could use to get back into God's grace.

Speaker 1:

Son of Righteousness, malachi, 4.2. Shiloh, prince of Peaceable or Red, genesis 49.10. Sure Foundation Isaiah 28.16. Stone cut out without hands, daniel 2.34.

Speaker 1:

Strong Rock, psalm 31.2. Shadow of a great rock and a weary land, 32 and 2. True Vine. Isaiah 15 and 1. Truth. John 14, 6 Wonderful. Isaiah 9, 6 Word. John 1 and 1. The Word of God. Also in Revelation, 19 and 13 Way.

Speaker 1:

John 14, 16, and one of the interesting times that Paul referred to Jesus as a rock because it just came to me, I didn't have it written down where he said that rock that followed the children of Israel as they left Egypt was Christ. And there's a whole study, there's a whole sermon in there, because this is why Moses ran afoul of God, because he crucified the rock twice. He crucified the rock twice. I don't want to get in that one right now, but if someone sends me a reminder I'll come back to that, because this is exactly why moses did not ever make it into the promised land, despite all the things that he did. All right so, but here's where we are right now.

Speaker 1:

We're almost out of time, but we want to make sure that we talk about how, all of those things that we talked about, even though they sound like names, they're really just title, they're really just office hold, they're really just like you know, things that catch that Jesus did, and Jesus even made sure to mention that he will. He would be referred to as the title in Matthew 28, 19. He says one and of the Holy Ghost one. So now, if we break down that sentence the way we're supposed to, like what we're supposed to do in grade school, we know that this name described is an attribute of the Father. That name is the name, the attribute of the Son and that name is the attribute of the Holy Ghost. So now you have to ask yourself are these three names we're talking about? No, that sentence clearly says in the name, by baptizing them, baptizing the whole world, in the name of the Father, the name of the Son and the name of the Holy Ghost, and that name is Jesus. Everything in that sentence is a one term, like a singular term, which is the name, and the rest of that are all titles.

Speaker 1:

Now, jesus never did tell his disciples to go out repeating the words Father, son and the Holy Ghost. The reason why you know that? Because you never see anyone baptizing that way, not one time. And they baptized. They were baptizing thousands of people. They were baptizing people, it seems like every week, but no one got baptized name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They always either got A baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, b got baptized in the name of the Lord which, which is the name, which is Jesus, and they I think I think one time it says they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, but never, ever. Do you ever see anybody baptized in the name of the Father, son and the Holy Ghost? Because they knew what their assignment was.

Speaker 1:

So are we supposed to just obey the command of Jesus or just repeat the word? We have to have an understanding of what we're doing, and it goes into how we worship, it goes into the effectiveness of the worship, and the reason why is because the name is the power. So it should be noted that if you have not been baptized and if you've been baptized in titles, if you've been baptized in titles and I hate to say this because I know it kind of rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but there's only one real way to say this and that's to say it straight out If you've been baptized in the name of titles, you've not been baptized scripturally. Now, one church I really like they covered both, because they said baptized in the name of the Father, son and the Holy Spirit, which is Jesus, then I still Jesus named baptism. Alright, so we're going to wrap this right at this note because I don't want to get into the importance of the name. We're going to get into right at this note because I don't want to get into the importance of the name. We're going to get into that with the next episode. But I wanted to point out all of these times where the difference is between the title and the name and why those are important.

Speaker 1:

All right, I love each and every one of you. Thank you all so much. Thank you for liking and sharing and commenting on some of the social media sites where the podcast is listed. Thank you so much for recommending it. Thank you so much. Hey, when you're out and about to see somebody tell them that Jesus loves them, that you might be the only time that they hear from God that day. So when the Spirit leads, you Just say it. Just say it, keep it moving. You don't have to have a long knock down sermon In the Winn-Dixie or the Piggly Wiggly. Just say, hey, you know what Jesus loves you, and that will go a long way. Just keep it moving. God bless each and every one of you. I'll see you all on the next one.
