For the last couple of weeks. It's just been really crazy. I do have one question that was asked of me and so we're going to talk about that today. But if you have any questions or comments, the best way right now to get them to me is by email, and that email is walkwithmebiblestudy at gmailcom. Walkwithmebiblestudy at gmailcom. So thank you all so much. Big shout out to Two Bars of Lyricists and Exquisite Creations, two sponsors of the show Wise Ken taking care of the folk. Ken Folk. I'm sorry, I just butchered my new sponsor's name. Sorry about that y'all. I'm really sorry about that. I just didn't have it in front of me. But thank you all so much for sponsoring. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1:

Here's the thing. The question is, why do I need the Holy Ghost? And I'm just going to jump right into it because this is going to take a long time to go through. Like I said, if you have any questions, make sure you email me at walkwithmebiblestudy at gmailcom. I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but now it feels like I did. So here's the thing. You need the Holy Ghost for mainly two reasons. Right, you need the Holy Ghost for mainly two reasons. And the main reason, the main main reason, is getting into heaven. Right, and that's because, if you read the Bible Now, this is going to be John, chapter 3, verse 3.

Speaker 1:

Except the man be born of the water and the kingdom, he shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven of God. And Jesus says it again in verse 5. Verse 3 and verse 5. Water and spirit, baptism and birth. Being born of the water and the spirit.

Speaker 1:

Now, what does this being born of the water and the spirit really do? Being born of the water is having your sins washed away in Jesus' name. Baptism, that's big, that's cute, that's 100%, and I know it's symbolic. You're not going to repent of something today, commit a sin tonight and then go back and get baptized again tomorrow. Once this is done in Jesus name, it carries forward, and that is to say, not to live in sin, but if you do happen to mess up. You now have this water baptism that you've already done and that water baptism is for that your sins can be remitted, not just to remit the sins you've already done, but the sins you may fall into, like, say, for example, your co-worker make you mad and you flip off the tongue and you realize and we're going to talk about that how you end up realizing, you realize that you were wrong and then you say god forgive me, and then it's done and you make it right for co-workers and it's done right.

Speaker 1:

So what is the reason for the? The main, the second reason for the holy ghost, the second reason for the holy ghost, the second reason for the Holy Ghost, the second reason for the Holy Ghost is to be a minister to you, and we're going to talk about that and I feel like I'm getting ahead of myself. So let's go back to the first one Now. It's about convicting the sinner. Right. The reason for the Holy Ghost, the ministry of the Holy Ghost, is to convict sinners. John 16, 8 through 13. He will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. Right Now.

Speaker 1:

This is the first big step in someone being born again. And notice, I'm kind of staying away from the term saved, and if you've been with this podcast any length of time, you kind of realize why I don't really like using that word saved. But this is a very big step. It's the first step in someone coming to God right, getting their life right, and that's what this is about. This Holy Spirit would anoint the word right that is being preached, and it allows it to be relatable to you rather than, oh, he must be talking to somebody else, and that in itself would kind of awaken something in your content. It sort of it gets down deep and it makes you think, hey, you know what? I think God is trying to tell me something. That is actually the Holy Ghost trying to minister to your heart.

Speaker 1:

And a lot of people kind of lose it right here and they start thinking, well, I'm not that bad, or you know, I don't need all that. And that's when they start thinking, well, I'm not that bad, or you know, I don't need all that. And that's when they start to shut off the operation of the Holy Ghost. Yes, you can shut off the operation of the Holy Ghost, and this is where they do it Now, if you don't get to a point where you can't repent.

Speaker 1:

By this term repent I mean ask God to forgive you Of all the bad, wrong things you've done, not necessarily in Itemized line by line Order. I mean you've been years at the altar and I think some people do. But when I say, like God, please forgive me Because I'm a sinner and I just want to be with you, that's all you really need. If that's coming from your heart, right, and the only way for that to come into your heart is the Holy Ghost has to be with you in your heart. You can't really finish even that repentance, that repentance motion, that repentance operation, I guess you would call it, without having the Holy Ghost conviction, and that conviction tells you, hey, you messed up, you've been messing up, you've been living a life that God is not pleased with and we all have to have that revelation. It's a revelation and this is where that beginning. This is why Jesus will talk about being born of the spirit, because basically, you're going to be starting from day one, scratch Right. So once that happens, now you have where the Holy Ghost will start to regenerate, and Titus 3 and 5 talks about it by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. There is a lot of scripture where it talks about how and I think again I'm getting ahead of myself where you can get the Holy Ghost and somehow lose it over time. But Titus 3 and 5 tells you that this Holy Ghost has to be renewed on a daily basis. Where is this Holy Ghost coming from it? God, it's the spirit of God in you.

Speaker 1:

Now, this work of regeneration is really what changes the center into what people call a saint. And by saint, I'm not talking about, like, what we can think of the word saint, like Saint Peter, saint, saint john. What I mean by saint is just a regular run-of-the-mill christian that is separating himself from the world and living a holy and righteous life. Yes, that is possible for you, it's possible for me, it's possible for anybody that is willing to live the way god want us to live, and it just seems like I'm having all kinds of problems today, but we're just going to keep right on going. Now, remember, the Holy Ghost is here to accomplish that changing of a sinning person, or a person who sins on a regular, into that person through being a new creation in Christ Jesus. This is where that missing link is.

Speaker 1:

Now, again, I don't want to get ahead of myself. It's so hard, but you know, a lot of people will say that they have the Holy Ghost and you can immediately tell If you really have the Holy Ghost. You can immediately tell. A person does not need to tell you that they have the Holy Ghost For them to acknowledge having the Holy Ghost is basically for them. But when you can also tell when somebody's claiming that they have the Holy Ghost and have no more Holy Ghost than you have, I'm just keeping it real with you. I'm telling you that that is a thing. Okay, but let's talk about Romans 8 and 9. It talks about how the Spirit of God is going to dwell in you In 1 Corinthians 6 and 19,. Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you. Oh wait, stop. One more thing, walkers. You know I have to say it. You know I have to say it For anybody that's new here.

Speaker 1:

We have a rule on this podcast. I give out a lot of scripture because I believe that the Bible confirms itself. There is no contradiction in the word of God and therefore, when we are talking about scripture in its context, it is important that I may give out one or two scriptures or verses for the sake of time. However, we have a rule Always read a verse or two above or a verse or two below, but preferably the whole chapter. Why Context is key.

Speaker 1:

Context is key and context is key. There are a lot of things that will seem like it's a little out of place and it's easy for me to take a scripture from here and a scripture from there if I have more than a rudimentary understanding of the Bible and tie it together and make a false doctrine. I am not here to present a false doctrine. I could be in my bed sleeping, honestly. I could be on my boat somewhere, honestly. But this is not about trying to lead anybody astray. This is us trying to make it to heaven. Context is key because those are our instructions. If I'm making a cake and I get all the ingredients together and and the uh, the ingredients say hey, put your um, put your uh, uh flour and your your baking powder and everything in the same bowl and mix it all together, but I have my eggs already scrambled here and I'm making egg in the flour and don't take care of the other dried goods, that cake is not gonna come out right. You know why, because I mixed it together out of context. I mixed it together out of order. So context is key and I'm sorry, I just kind of got off on the weeds on that. So I'm going to be going through a lot of scriptures right now because we have to make up some time and I want to make sure I get at least this question answered today.

Speaker 1:

All right, so the Holy Ghost does live in you. It guides you, but it also seals you. It actually seals you, you, but it also seals you. It actually seals you. Ephesians 1 and 13, for whom, also after that, you have believed, you were sealed in the Holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 4 and 30 goes on to say and grieve not the Holy Spirit of God whereby you are sealed. Now, this sealing, this sealing is not like the sealing in your house. This sealing has different meanings, though. It means like to be owned like a child of God. You now belong to Jesus, you are sealed in his name, you are secure in the fact of knowing that you're a child of God and as long as the Holy Spirit abides there and the seal is unbroken. Now I want to stop again, because I'm being led to stop here. I want you to remember I just said something here that was very important as long as the Holy Spirit abides there and the seal is unbroken, which means by correlation, you can actually break the seal and the Holy Ghost can no longer reside in you. And we're going to talk about some of that maybe next week, because I can see the time running.

Speaker 1:

Approval you need the Holy Ghost for approval because that seal places God's approval on your life, things that you see people get in favor for and they're humble, and stuff. That's God's approval. And the baptism of the Holy Ghost was the last act in the work of regeneration in the life of the believer. Now, when I say last act, that means it's the last starting. Alright, when you repent, because there's three different steps that you're repenting, getting baptized in Jesus' name and getting the Holy Ghost. Right Now you can get them out of order, but you got to repent first.

Speaker 1:

I've seen people get the Holy Ghost while repenting and then get baptized in Jesus' name. I've seen people get baptized in Jesus' name and then repent and get the Holy Ghost. I've seen people you know the only thing I don't I've even seen people I'm not going to lie to you I've seen people get the Holy Ghost because they were standing next to somebody else that got the Holy Ghost. I am not going to lie to you. I have seen that happen and the transformation that was made on their lives. They immediately repented and it was such a glorious watching that that happened. So this growth, this work of growth and that's what the Holy Ghost is for it continues. It continues, whether's what the Holy Ghost is for. It continues. It continues whether you get the Holy Ghost in your teens and you live to 85, or you get the Holy Ghost at 85 and live two more weeks.

Speaker 1:

You will be continually regenerated in your spirit not in your body, in your spirit, as long as you got the Holy Ghost. But the biggest thing is it puts power within you. Now I'm not talking about power to go out and turn water to wine and raise the dead and stuff like that. I mean, I've heard people say stuff like that about you know, I prayed over somebody and they got well. Okay, that's great, but that's not necessarily the power that we're talking about. We're talking about the power after that.

Speaker 1:

The holy ghost comes upon you, as described in acts 1 and 8. This word power is different from the way that that we consider it, it comes from the same root word dynamite. Now, this is actually the power of God that's going to come into your life as an individual and give you the power to overcome and live victoriously over sin and, as in Acts 1 and 8, the power to witness the people of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. By one spirit are we all baptized in one body. That's 1 Corinthians, 12 and 13. It puts you in the body of Christ. It actually it grasps you into the body of Christ. The child of God is placed into the body of Christ and at the same time, christ comes into him.

Speaker 1:

It doesn't matter how long you've had the Holy Ghost, it don't matter if you are a person that sits on the pew, like I like to do, or you are a preacher of the Megas, megas, of the Megas' churches out there. As long as you really got the Holy Ghost, you all are in the same body. Now, this is kind of like, I don't know, putting an empty cup into a pail of water and then put some of that water into the cup and if you really look, if you do it right, the cup will float in an equilibrium. The cup is in the water and the water is in the cup. It's the same thing. But here's, here's where, here's where you know the holy ghost. Somebody has the holy ghost and they don't have the holy ghost. The holy ghost will guide you. Now, I'm not.

Speaker 1:

Some people think it seems like it's such a supernatural thing. Oh God told me to turn right and I turned right and I folded, fell and landed where I was standing. Now, that can happen. That can happen. But this guiding, this Holy Spirit guiding you, is not just in miraculous things, it's about guiding every detail of our lives. What I mean? Like somebody says something to you and you know that the old you would have flipped out and five little words and six little and nineteen little words would have came out of your mouth and four little words would have come out of your mouth and you, your body, like, shuts down on it. Your mind shuts your mouth and your body shuts down on it. Your mind shuts down on it, your spirit shuts down on it, and you just smile and say, okay, god bless you. That right there, that right there was the Holy Ghost guiding you to stay away from sin.

Speaker 1:

Why the Bible says to be angry and sin. Not. It didn't say you couldn't get angry. It says be angry. Jesus said be angry and sin not. That is the Holy Ghost guiding you, not keeping you away from being angry. Being angry is good. God gave us those emotions, but being able to use those emotions and not being in sin you know what really aggravates people, especially when they're grown people and they think they got Holy Ghost Tell them that they're sin.

Speaker 1:

You know what really aggravates people, especially when they're grown people and they think they got the Holy Ghost. Tell them that they're sin. That is the true test. That is the true test of telling somebody that they're finding out if somebody got the Holy Ghost or not. Because if you really got the Holy Ghost and if I really got the Holy Ghost, you say JJ, you know you was wrong.

Speaker 1:

Either A Holy Spirit will check me because you're checking me and say you know what, you're right, I shouldn't have done that. Oh God, I'm sorry, now that is the Holy Ghost. Or or they don't have the Holy Ghost and you check them and you say you know what, brother, I don't think you will Ghost. And you check them and you say you know what, brother, I don't think why were you in that place and why did you say that to that girl? You know you should have said that to that girl. You know you're married, and then they rise up on you. When they rise up on you, they're going to tell you right there that they don't have the Holy Ghost. Either that, or they have already begun to leak the holy ghost out of them. I'm just telling, I'm just telling you this is what the holy ghost does. It guides you. If you're sealed with the holy ghost, it guides you, and sometimes it ain't pleasant to you, y'all walkers, sometimes it's not pleasant to you.

Speaker 1:

Please don't let me sit here and create a scenario where it looks like living for God is all sunshine and rainbows as soon as you pray to get the Holy Ghost. Your financial problems that you've been stacking up for the last 30 years will not miraculously right now fix itself, because you went to church, you knelt in the altar, and. But I tell you what, though? If you submit to the Spirit of God and let Him guide you, god will work you out of those financial problems. God will work you out of those fleshly problems. God will work you out of some of the things that you, even if God is saying hey, I need you to go through this here punishment, because this is what you did. If you can't go out and kill somebody today and then come and fall in the altar and expect that you won't even get convicted, I mean, it can happen, it can. But at the same time, god may require you to go through some punishment. He can give you some time to get that holy ghost down inside. Listen, I'm not God, but I'm just saying some of the things I've seen.

Speaker 1:

One of the worst things in the world. One of the worst things in the world is people who go out and do something, do something wrong, and you see this on TV nowadays all the time. It aggravates the spirit in me so bad. They go out and do something wrong and the first thing they do is go run to church and try to complain about it. They're not repentant now. Now, if you repent, that's a whole different thing. Oh God, I'm sorry, I I messed up. God forgive me. No, they run to church and try to tell you that everybody coming against me and no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Wait a minute, friend. You are literally trying to shut god down with his word. Let's see how well that works for you, and even if that works for you in this life, you're still going to have to answer for that.

Speaker 1:

Now I seem like I've gone a little bit long, so I'm going to end it right here before I get off in the weeds. Listen, let the Holy Ghost feel you, because the next thing we're going to talk about is how to lose the Holy Ghost. Because the next thing we're going to talk about is how to lose the Holy Ghost. Remember, I said in the beginning of part of this episode there is a way to break that seal and let the Holy Ghost get away, to leak the Holy Ghost out. All right, I love each and every one of you.

Speaker 1:

Follow up, ask any questions that you have. Put them in the comments of these social media posts. Put them in, you know. But the best way to do it is to send me the email. Y'all I'm telling you WalkWithMeBibleStudy at Gmail, because that is easier for me to kind of sift through all this stuff. All right, walkwithmebiblestudy at Gmail, trying to sift through all this stuff. All right, walk with me at BibleStudy at Gmail. And hey, if you want me to address you directly, put your name in the subject line.

Speaker 1:

So you know and I know that I'm talking directly to you and all the other walkers are just watching and listening. That's fine, but I love each and every one of you. Please understand how much I love each and every one of you. Even back when it was just two, I loved both of you and my long life long listeners, as it were and I love all of you who are joining us today and the people who will join in the future. I do. I love each and every one of you.

Speaker 1:

I know this sounds kind of cliche, but I really do. All right, I love each and every one of you. See y'all on the next one. Tell somebody else that Jesus loves them, that you will probably be the only person that delivers them some good news. It don't matter how they react to it at that moment. That may be the seed that goes down into their heart and god starts to talk to them, because they saw you showing them the love that the world said they could never have. All right, god bless each and every one of you. Love you all. Bye.
